Abandoned vessel nr. 7
This is one of the vases of the abandoned vessel series made by Sepideh. This series as decorative artwork is inspired by abandoned architectures and the beauty and livelihood that she sees in natural decay and erosion.
To connect this work to her current home town The Hague, she uses unprocessed local materials in them.
Technique:
This vase is slab-built using stoneware clay mixture. The surface is hand-carved then covered by layers of different clays including natural local clay and porcelain. Unusual material combinations together with the glaze application technique create corroded surfaces.
Maintenance: All artworks are essentially unique and will always carry the traces of the artist's hands and tools with them. Therefore, carefully handling the item and washing with hands is highly recommended.
Please use only for dried plants.
In the pieces that have unprocessed natural material in them such as sand or wood, please never put in microwave or washing machine!
Material: Stoneware ceramic, unprocessed local clay and sand sourced in The Hague, porcelain
Hight: 33cm
